Heavy machinery industry companies will be on show in FinnMETKO’s extensive forest terrain – circular economy, woodbased energy, silviculture, earthmoving and logistics

The 18th annual professional exhibition for the heavy machinery industry, FinnMETKO 2020, will open on Thursday 3 September in Jämsä. There has been heavy investment into visitor safety at the outdoor event, which spans an extensive area. The circular economy is on the rise, and this can also be seen in the range of FinnMETKO exhibitors.

More than 200 exhibitors have signed up for the trade fair. The main gate triangle is a good illustration of the diversity of the modern earthmoving industry. An impressive range of earthmoving machinery and equipment are on display in the area: from machinery for excavation, road maintenance and property management to machinery for processing recycling materials and demolition work.

The outlook for growth in the consumption and use of energy wood and pulpwood is mirrored in the forestry aspect of the exhibition. FinnMETKO is introducing new energy wood felling equipment, grabbers, carts, and harvesters. There are also solutions for mechanizing silvicultural work; visitors can learn more about mechanical planting at the exhibition, among other things.

As usual, utility vehicles are playing a significant part in the FinnMETKO exhibition. Many utility vehicle structure and equipment suppliers are showcasing their products, as are companies offering equipment, spare parts and services for the entire heavy machinery industry.

The FinnMETKO exhibition spans an extensive area in the Myllymäki forest area in Jämsä. The exhibition’s stand area is 1.5 kilometres long from north to south, and half a kilometre wide at its widest point. The size of the area enables safe social distancing and makes the exhibition safe as long as visitors comply with the safety instructions.

It is important that everyone participating in the exhibition follows the coronavirus safety instructions:

  • Do not come to the exhibition if you are ill or symptomatic.
  • Keep a safe distance (1–2 metres) from others.
  • Practice good hand hygiene. There are several handwashing and hand sanitiser stations in the exhibition area.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue, your sleeve, or your elbow. Dispose of used tissues in the nearest litter bin as soon as possible.
  • There is enhanced cleaning at stands and in the exhibition area, with surfaces wiped down more regularly.
  • We recommend the use of face masks on the area’s buses and in other situations where it is not possible to keep a safe distance from others.
  • Please pay by card rather than with cash.

Instructions can be found on our website.

By acting responsibly together, we can make the exhibition a safe experience for everyone.

The FinnMETKO 2020 trade fair will be open to the public between 9.00am and 5.00pm from 3.–5.9.2020.

The FinnMETKO 2020 professional and sales trade fair is Finland’s main event for the heavy machinery indus-try. The organizer responsible for FinnMETKO 2020 is Finnmetko Oy. The organizations behind the exhibition are the Trade Association of Finnish Forestry and Earthmoving Contractors (Koneyrittäjät) and Keski-Suomen Koneyrittäjät ry.
